Why isn't the Green New Deal being talked about?

There's more to it than the article suggests, but the principles seem like they would work. Like Roosevelt's original New Deal, but with investment in sustainability. So, why is noone talking about it? It's not even a key point in the Green Party agenda but is arguably their most sensible idea.

Because its incredibly expensive. Its like paying £500 for a wide screen TV which is sold at £150 every where else.

There are virtually no Solar or Double Glazing companies which have bothered to do business with the Governments Green Deal.

I personally am not going to pay 3-4 more for something I can get cheaper on a basic bank loan.

The new deal never provided sustainable economic growth and the Green Party have never put forward a a sensible economic policy.
