Heart pain

I was on the computer for about 5 hours when I decided to get up and suddenly I felt chest pain (angina pectoris I think - although it could be oesophagitis apparently), in the centre of my chest. I could feel an increased heart rate and I had to sit down. I felt it once, and then again a few minutes later. However I know I made it worse because of my fear that I could have a myocardial infarction etc (due to those adverts about "Chest pain is your heart saying dial 999." so releasing adrenaline so I don't know what to think. Am I too young to have such and effect, and I don't think I'm unhealthy enough to have Coronary heart disease. I don't want to go to A&E because they're busy enough as it is.
Could it just be a muscle spasm? It didn't quite feel like a belt around my chest as the advert looked like.
Pains in the chest are actually quite common I've found out. Was it worse when taking a deep breath? I used to think that was just me, but it seems that it happens to EVERYONE sometimes. Increased heartrate could easily just have been down to you worrying about the pain, which you obviously were. See a doctor if you're really worried about it.
wow, really? I sometimes get chest pains - and I used to be terrified by them, and it would be worse when I breath in. But now I'm kinda used to them now. I don't know why I get them... but if it happens to everyone then that's ok! I'm not dying...
Id go with what Toy Soldier said
I get them too they can really hurt when you breathe in - no idea what they are though.
I get it sometimes-I think its caused by pulling a muscle or something. Not very nice but it passes quickly. However, if you are worried then see a doctor to put your mind at ease.
See? Everyone gets that weird sharp breathing in pain! Yet everyone is surprised when they find out it's not just them. I remember mentioning it at school, having had them on occasion my entire life, and thinking it was weird - and EVERYONE was like "really?? Me too!" all having thought it was just them. Heheh.
Ok, thanks. Feeling a bit better, maybe it was just a muscle spasm.

I trying to figure out if this is someone having a joke, 'seeing how many people say go to hospital now!'...

it was muscle or chondral pain, not your heart, and probably not heartburn either.

I have it from time to time, but these are not just random heart pains, like if somebody would placing needels in your heart, but a sudden hmm 'grip' ? and when it takes me, I can't breathe, cuz every breathe, every move is ENORMOUS pain in my chest. Anybody has the same one?
yes, that's kinda what it's like to me. For some strange reason I seem to get it when I'm doing the ironing haha. And I just have to sit on the floor for 10minutes panicking and then it goes and im ok again!

I honestly thought that I only I got them so it's such a relief to read this thread! Mine go pretty quick but when they are happening it's such a nasty feeling. I had one in my lecture the other day but nobody noticed!
I get them ALL the time. They hurt loads more when I try and take a deep breath. Then they go away again after a minute or two.

I've been getting them since I was 17. I stopped worrying about them when I didn't die lol.

Once I thought I had really bad heart burn (pains in that area) took some medication you buy over the counter, didnt go away after a week so I went to the doctors and had costochondritis, which is inflammation of the joint between a rib and the breastbone (sternum) or between the bony part of the rib and the rib cartilage.

Caused shortening of breathe and apparently is very common and many people that go to hospital thinking that they are having a heart attack or something usually have it, just so you all know
