Are postgraduate research students entitled to free prescriptions/dental costs

Hi,

I'm currently a sponsored PhD student at University and was wondering if I would be entitled to free prescriptions/dental costs through the 'NHS Low Income Scheme' as my yearly income is under the 16k threshold?

Has anyone in a similar postion had any succes with regards to obtaining full help (HC2) or partial help (HC3)?

Thanks, sorry if this has been posted elsewhere.
generally if you have under 16k then its at least worth applying for a reduction
The £16k is for savings only. The income is actually much much lower.
I've been able to get free dental care using the HC2 form as a postgrad.

I haven't done a PhD but when I did my degree and PGCE(my only income being my maintenance loan and grant then later a bursary too) I filled out the forms for it each year and I only got partial help towards dental costs. The people I knew who were awarded full help whilst a student were younger students or single parents.
