Facebook didn't exist until my 2nd year... and even then it was only Oxford and Cambridge students in the UK. Now even my Mum's on it :s-smilie:

Not really, we have 'semi-formal' hall on Tuesday's - its a served three course meal and black tie, but not gowns like proper formal hall.

It's certainly not black tie for the girls (if that makes sense), else in my mind that would involve dresses etc, I just wore a smart skirt and a nice blouse. I got to sit next to the Master at my first semi-formal. :biggrin:

So do you guys ever have formal hall, where you wear gowns, etc?? I thought that most colleges have this? It's the only thing that I dislike about Balliol..I really can't pick a college (for postgraduate study)!
