Masters Dissertation Help

Hello everyone!

I am writing my dissertation in politics, and I need a bit of help. My topic (chosen by my supervisor, who has now gone on holiday...) is this: The Effect of Public Opinion on State Aid to Non-State Groups. In this respect, 'non-state groups' refers to non state actors such as rebel groups, refugees or separatist movements. I was thinking about looking into how public opinion shapes aid, based on their feelings towards the groups, which could be shaped by media coverage, personal bias or socialisation.

I have barely any idea what I'm doing. I know almost nothing about this topic, and I have been informed I cannot change it now.

My skeleton structure so far is:
Introduction
Section 1 - Literature Review
Section 2 - Case Studies (two of these)
Conclusion

Therefore, I was hoping I could get some help with fleshing this out. In regards to my Literature Review, are there any works that people think may be useful on the topic? I have two, but they may not be as relevant as I'd hoped.

In regards to case studies, can anyone think of any I could use here? I was thinking of Kosovo (the public demand for something to be done) and perhaps the crisis in Ukraine? I'm not sure.

I also have plenty of sociological theories that work with this topic (thankfully) but I would love to hear any suggestions on this, in case I've missed some!

Thank you in advance to anyone who replies. I'm slightly panicking now, as I have a month to go (I have been very, very ill for a few weeks, which is why this is so late!), and not much work done.

So, thank you!

I can't give any specific advice, however two points
-if you've been ill it might be worth considering extenuating circumstances & applying for an extension, especially if you are so unsure of what you are doing.
-I went into my dissertation, also in Politics, not knowing who any of the key authors were but a combination of google and my uni library search function soon showed me who the big names were.

Thank you for your answer.

I have been informed that I was not ill enough (bronchitis) to warrant any extenuating circumstances, which is a pity! My uni is very strict about this, and require a shed load of evidence before extra time is even considered. I do not have time to collect all the information especially with no guarantee I'll be awarded any extenuating circumstances. (Very unlikely, I had a death in my close family and was told that without getting the real death certificate prior to my hand in date, I would not be allowed extra time on an assignment to grieve and go to the funeral)

While I have found some authors on Google, they are not directly relevant to my work. I'll still find a way to work them in, though! I will look through my uni's library again though. Maybe I missed some? Thanks again for your answer.

Ah thats very harsh, at my uni you can get one extension without any evidence and after that you just need to have been to the doctor before the submission date.
