"I like your shoes"

That should make them happy.

Just say what comes into your head like what you do around friends.

Like Moriarty Man suggested; observations are usually a good way to begin consevation.
Surely complemnting her about her shoes would show her you lack confidence since it means you where constantly looking at the ground :toofunny:

..or you could have seen them as you approached her and were sizing her up?

doesn't matter, it works.
try and avoid something like "you're the most beautiful girl in the room" - us girls are quite aware you will use the same line on every other female in the place and it does not sound impressive (particularly when said under the influence of alcohol). i was out last week and a man came over and asked me and my friend if we knew who'd been evicted from CBB, and got in to a brief discussion over the whole Jade/racist thing. We're both taken but agreed it was a pretty good starting point, not cheesy, easy to chat about and got us in to a conversation with him for a few minutes. someone who can hold a conversation always goes down better than someone who slurs how much they fancy you lets be honest!

Except it shows that the fool watches CBB and therefore needs to be shot and stopped at all costs from ever spreading his seed.
ok.. well substitute CBB for any recent media story then! something that shows a little initiative!
p.s CBB isn't that bad.. even if it's just to laugh at them, not with them.

Oink at them.

Or wear a sombrero so that they are tempted to start talking to you first.

(these were 2 suggestions from a thread ages ago on a similar subject.)

I like the oinking one. I want to do that next time I'm out. *writes on post it* *puts post it near going-out shoes*

Basically when your our and about and clubbing etc, what is the first thing you say to a woman like when you go up to them?

I use to be comfortable around them, but recently I've been lacking confidence and find it hard just to go up to them and start talking.

I mean, what's a good first thing to say? 'cos I hate using cheesey lines. haha

And after 'hello'... it's a bit of a free-fall from there.

"Can we save some time? What chat up lines work on you?" - ALWAYS works (makes them laugh... thats 60% of the way to sex already) unless they have heard it before.

Then theres the old classic "You remind me of someone... is there any chance we have met?" followed by them telling you who they are and where they are from. Obviously this is more of a delayer but if they are interested then the conversation will go from there.

Hello? Have you BEEN clubbing with students before? Neither of those would get you a second glance compared to some of the craziness that goes on
