Honest Opinion Of Vladimir Putin.....

This man is a KGB thug who's overseen his nation go backwards only made worse by his brutish nationalism - clearly nostalgic for empire and domination. His homophobia is disgusting, racism is disturbing and sexism is dismaying. However, I think there may be something to be said for us imposing our western culture on them but have to admit that I haven't contemplated this concern enough to come to a conclusion.

Only a blind fool would say that Russia has gone backwards under Putin. The economic situation in Russia has improved drastically under Putin. Also the fertility rates in Russia have improved slightly which will also improve the future prospects of his country.

Backwards compared to what anyway? As compared to living under the Soviet Union or having your country raped by inflation, corruption and exploitation as in 1990s? Ask any Russian and they'll tell you the same thing. It is significantly better than what came before that's for sure.

Perhaps I should have been more precise, I meant socially - I'm in no position to comment on his government's economic success.

.

And it's laughable that pseudo-left wingers in this country support a man who has implemented fascistic and homophobic legislation in Russia purely on the basis that he is opposed to America.

Then again, left-wingers often do this; they are quite fond of terrorist groups who throw gay men off buildings and rape/enslave Yezidi women. Not very left-wing by any measure, but you can do anything you want and British left-wingers will support you if they perceive you as "anti-imperialist"

He's a good operator who loves his country remember? Just like the far left, the enemies enemy is a friend no matter what!

I'd say Putin is going into reverse on his own progress. Things have gotten better under him. Frankly it'd.be hard to put russia into a worse position than under the ussr or in the 90s. However with the endemic corruption he is overseeing that progress will begin to reverse. The economy is going to suffer in thr long term, lack of investment and an over reliance on the energy sector will cripple russia if Putin does not change.

He's a good leader, but some of his political decisions have been controversial to say the least

People don't like him only because the media doesn't like him. The media doesn't like him because the media is mostly Jewish owned. The Jews don't like him because on a day to day level they think he's a racist/ bigot etc. but what it actually boils down to is him being an opponent of the Zionist New World Order. (Please refer to his speech at the 2007 Munich security conference on the Unipolar World). He has also challenged conventional history by saying who was behind the mass Soviet killings under the first Soviet government.

His face doesn't fit. The reasons for the media to attack him are just excuses.

I just hope this doesn't all lead to another unnecessary war because if it does it won't be another Afghanistan or Iraq. It will be more like a World War. I have contingency plans to get my family out but you will end up losing family, members, friends and limbs.

What percentage of the population are blind fools. And what percentage of the thinking people can not think for themselves?

Corruption was far worse in the 1990s. The future of the Russian economy looks better than the future of our economy which is heavily imbalanced towards consumption. I'd rather have an economy that is based on a tangible good that people will still need in 20 or 30 years i.e. oil, natural gas, minerals, etc. than have an economy like ours which is based on consumption and foreign debt. If the British people or Western Europeans have less money in their pockets to buy these consumption goods then our economy falls apart.

Also in Russia they have a 13% flat tax which will get them foreign capital investment that our countries won't in the future.

Just because it was worse in the past does not mean it won't have a serious impact on the country now and in the future. Corruption hollows out the economy that will just happen at a slower rate than it did in the 90's. Sochi is a brilliant example of how damaging and expensive corruption is to Russia

In Russia's case it is based on that sector to its detriment. The long term sustainability of Russian finances is based solely on Hydrocarbons. Their budget requires a constant rising oil price, which as we can currently see is unlikely. In the long term I'd say the Russian economy is far worse off than the UK.

I imagine their low Doing Business Rankings in things like protecting investors, getting credit and trading across borders will more than off set any of the good done by a low tax rate.

By 2021 the economy of Russia will be fully diversified. Its machine industry is developing. Western corporations do not want isolate Russian market, Chinese starting to invest in Russian agriculture, electronic industry is also at the start-up stage and some of the Russian smartphones are now selling in China.

Chinese people call Putin - uncle. This shows that the tie of china and russia is strong as ****. Without USSR there would have been no China. Without China there is no Russian federation. Both nations have socialist mindset that will not allow to betray each other

Russia geographically situated between Europe and Asia which gives it a huge georgraphical, economical and geopolitical advantage. From September this year Russia will grow at the fast rate as it was before sanction.

During Saint Petersburg economic forum in 2015 China and Russia signed $1 trillion dollar economic dealю

Demand on oil, gas and electricity is rising. Russia will never become bankrupt, Putin proposed wide range of policies that will make sure that GDP debt will be below 15% - controllable rate.

I agreed with the rest of your comment, but this is just ridiculous. Are you seriously suggesting that a noticeable amount of left wingers support ISIS?

I'm left-wing myself, I'm a democratic socialist. And I have to say, it pains me that many on the far-left do tend to support Islamists, and at the least are apologists for them.

Sorry. I thought it the best way to describe a homophobic thug and bully.

I know you're not a homophobe, and you're solidly anti-Putin and everything. Just keep in mind that if you're an LGBT person, like me, when you see someone you otherwise resepect use a word like faggot or something like that, your heart sinks, and it just leaves a really bad taste in everything

Good point. Peter Hitchens is also a Putin supporter. He seems to have coalesced around him a very strange group of far-left and far-right Western acolytes
