My friend gave me a book called "So tell me about a banana". It gives you lots of info about the interview process at Oxbridge, not specifically for medicine, but it does tell you a lot about what the tutors are looking for in general.

Good luck

Well, I can't help in any other way than being obvious.
Work hard. Earn the grades. Look at their website. Ask teachers/counsellors.

You're applying to Cambridge, which is world renown for being extremely picky with applicants.

And tbh, if you are aiming at Cambridge, I'd expect a person to know what they need to do to get in.

Well if you didn't study at Cambridge, why are you replying to this? :s-smilie:

what a cop out vikaman! you need to understand that the whole reason people go on here is to find answers, not just 'expect a person to know what they need to do to get in'

Sorry, but I'm afraid there is no "way to get in". You have to be better than the competition. That means having really good grades, doing well in BMAT and impressing them in interview. There's no "trick", so any question like that is just going to provoke a sarcastic response.

I haven't personally read the "So tell me about a banana" book, but I would not recommend buying it. The type of organisation which produces it is lucrative and out to steal as much of your cash as possible, whilst giving you absolutely no advantage over other applicants. I've also heard its "advice" is outdated. You can find plenty of interview advice on the Cambridge uni website, or on the TSR wiki, for example.

The uni is actually quite open and transparent about the interview process, no need for some sort of "reveal-all" book.

Bezzler unis don't just want grades, ever heard of supercurricular activities? Oxbridge love it

There is a fragment in your answer which I was looking for so there shouldn't be any sarcasm!

strip tease the tutor and you're a winner.

Reply 775

you need qualifications in gcse, as and a level.
they must be of above-average standard.
you need work-experience.
you need a buffting personal statement.

and sorted.

Make sure you're capable of getting at least one A* at A2, or you wont meet any offer you get, and apparantly, they look for 275/300 in your AS.
