Err.. I do not think that would count as an extenuating circumstances. OP, you are better off calling the University. Besides, You haven't posted any AS/A2 results or predictions, so this question is better asked when you get the grades first.

Now that (War), is extenuating circumstances. Not the O levels in one year. You may be eligible for Cambridge Special Access Scheme (CSAS) if you get the grades this year

But CSAS are only for home students not for overseas>

Theres always the SAQ that you have to fill out when you apply to Cambridge. Email Cambridge. But seriously, get the grades first before your consideration.

I'm applying through the CSAS due to extenuating circumstances which resulted me in getting lower GCSE grades than what I deserve.
You really think that people just applying through it due to low grades?? Apply some logic you moron
I went on what you said, which was that you applied beacuse of bad GCSEs; nothing more. If you say something then explain it if you want people to understand.
Also, well done in your as grades, but the circumstances you quoted in the neg rep, in my opinion, are not something that mitigates bad gcses. Good luck with your application but you should grow up a bit =]
If it's any help, I got my offer having only A*AABBCD. Your final exams as well as your interview are the most important factors. However, without an interview I doubt you'd have any chance. Organize one when the time comes.

cya
You don't think that their mitigating circumstances?!?! I'd like to see how you would be able to focus on revision and exams if someone in your family is diagnosed with terminal cancer. Me grow up?!?!? Your that one that went 'LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL' on your aformentioned, childish, illogical comment.

Actually my dad was during my gcse's, and he died not long ago (RIP) - so im aware of how hard it is to cope when that happens. Im merely saying that the diognosis alone I dont feel is reason enough to fail gcses - which are piss. If your capable of getting 5 As then you should have easily got strait A*/As regardless, surely you know that - but meh. I know nothing about you so cannot gage your maturity or capacity to deal with grief, I guess we all have our limits and perhaps I shouldn't judge you by mine - so I apologise for that. You may want to adresss your attitude though, although I may have provoked it partly.
O well lol.
As I said, insult me as much as you want mate but good luck with your application, =]

I am sorry to hear that.
I didn't fail my GCSE'S, i achieved 2 A* and 8 A's, which by no means is bad, just below standards that Cambridge expect. And therefore I'm applying through the CSAS as I feel I could have much better if circumstances were different at the time. And it certainly isn't up to you to judge whether a persons cirumstances are mitigating or whatever, I've seen people claim extenuating circumstances as 'their parents were going through a divorce' however it's not up to me to comment.
I'm not interested on argueing on a internet forum, however if anyones attitudes need addressing, it's yours..

Thanks.
This is not an argument, we just have different opinions which is fine.
The divorce thing is really silly though, if that affects you really badly then your not going to be mature enough at cambridge anyway (not aimed at you obv)
