Thanks.

This is not an argument, we just have different opinions which is fine.

The divorce thing is really silly though, if that affects you really badly then your not going to be mature enough at cambridge anyway (not aimed at you obv)

Ah well, shall agree to disagree and what not (Y)

Okay, agreed:smile:

Good luck with your application, and sorry if i was bit irrational with my comments earlier

If it's any help, I got my offer having only A*AABBCD. Your final exams as well as your interview are the most important factors. However, without an interview I doubt you'd have any chance. Organize one when the time comes.

was that for your GCSE or AL??

I'm applying through the CSAS, due to crappy GCSE results

Whats the reason your are applying through UCAS:smile:

That was for IGCSE. My A-level predictions were 43 points at IB.

Hi,
I'm filling out my SAQ at the moment, and I'm a bit stuck on this additional personal statement thing..
I'm pretty interested in the whole medicine degree with the natural sciences learning throughout the course too, but I'm not sure what this entails exactly..
Also, if I was to write this as a feature that attracted me on the additional personal statement, I'm not that sure how to put it...
Any help would be greatly appreciated
for appling to cambridge for medicine?
What o_o? I did my GCSE's over 1 year lol, isn't 3 a little bit much ?
I mean do they care?
Well they care if you do A levels over 3 years, so... possibly?

i know its a long way off from 2011 applications to cambridge but i just want an idea of which colleges are good for medicine at cambridge

also i'm looking for a college that fulfills the criteria of:
(i) Accomodation for at least 3 years
(ii) Good facilities
(iii) Good Arts & Sport Societies
(iv) Academically Strong
(v) Fun/Friendly
(vi) Good social activities
(vii) Central location

its pretty hard to google this to find out and most colleges, if any, don't mention if an undergrad has accomadation in the college for the 3 years

i really appreciate your help

and i already know about trinity college

P.S cambridge medics it would be great if you could suggest any college you think is good for you and explain why

thank you so much
i) is satisfied by all colleges, as far as I know.
iv) if you want to get involved in that, look up the Tompkins and Baxter tables.
vii) look at a map (Google maps, the university one); most of them are fairly central apart from Girton, Homerton, Churchill, Robinson and Jesus (in roughly decreasing levels of remoteness - Churchill, Jesus and Robinson are all well within a 10 minute walk of the centre, Girton's a couple miles out, and I'm not sure where Homerton is)

The colleges are all fairly similar, although there are primary differences in size and wealth. I don't want to say they're identical (e.g. Queens' runs an extra little compsci class and has regular subject Formals) but I think you'd probably be unlucky (or misguided) to be devastated by ending up at one college rather than another.

Caius is known as being particularly strong for Medicine.

I'd add Fitz, Murray Edwards and Selwyn to that list.....and maybe Newnham.....

thank you
but i read somewhere that trinity hall kicks out students for second year and then only half live in the college for third year
thats why i put emphasis on living in the college for the whole 3 years

Yeah, all colleges provide guaranteed undergrad accommodation for 3 years but NOT all colleges provide this on the main college site. Off the top of my head, I'm not sure which ones do.....although I imagine that there's the option of staying at the main site at the majority of colleges.

I don't know anyone who did English in third year, but I do know people who have done Law, Theology, Oriental Studies, and Management.

Whether you're allowed to do a subject other than the biological Natural Sciences would probably be up to your college's Directors of Studies (of medicine and the subject you want to switch to) - so if you were to do that you would in all likelihood need approval from your college's medic DoS and DoS for English.

(I don't know any more than that, I'm afraid, as I did Part II Natural Sciences for my third year...)

says it all in the title really
any experience from applicants (successful and unsuccessful) is greatly appreciated
Odd question, the fact it's St. Johns makes no difference as applicants are compared throughout the university. medicine anywhere is difficult to get into but easier if you have the correct grades/experience/passion/interview responses.
