I am hoping to apply to Cambridge for medicine and wondering if having a job helps with application? I am currently volunteering in a care home, getting loads of experience in hospitals, shadowing GPS and surgeons, and am doing extra stuff eg Cambridge chemistry challenge, chemistry and biology Olympiad, dofe gold and hope to achieve high UMS in my as exams, (that's what I've been told Cambridge really like!) I was just wondering if I needed to of had a job for a year or so and weather that will strengthen my application? Taking into consideration it may have an effect on my grades, and how much experience and extra academic stuff I can do? Or would it be better to hold out for a year, apply to Cambridge get all the experience and AS grades under my belt, get an offer (if I get in) then get a job? I have been told AS is the most important year for Cambridge medicine!
any help and advice much appreciated!!!
