Feel free to ask any other questions

Haha thank you

Its great that you already have colleges in mind, but don't set your heart too firmly on those as soo many people get moved around by the pool anyway.
If you really want to foptimise your chances make sure you check out what colleges prefer as well though - like some prefer at least 3 sciences/maths so remember to bear that in mind

That's exactly what I've done . Called the Occupational Health people - plus my surgery isn't insured to give me the Hep B injections anyway :P.

So you just ring up the Cambridge occupational health and ask them to do the hep B jabs when you are there and that's fine?

And you are still organised :P

Yep! My dad called them up and they said they'd prefer if I had them done before, but if not then they can do them in October  .

Got to fill in my UCL one now - unfortunately I was not organised enough to photocopy my vaccinations sheet so back to the doctors I go! :P.

hi giys, I just wanted to ask- will taking maths A2 in one year benegfit me in any way for a medical application for cambridge? At the moment I am taking normal Maths AS, Bio chem and Econ and am predicted all As- and for the mocks, my averege UMS (if they were real scores in the recent summer exams) would have been around 94%. I am also taking an EPQ.

Doing really well in 4 A2s rather than just 3 would probably help your application from what I have heard so yes

thanks very much. But would I then be at a disadvantage if I dont take the full A2 in a year?

Hi, I am in year12, and i am looking into doing the BMAT this year.
I do biology chemistry maths and geography.
Do i require A-level physics knowledge to be able to get a good bmat score for section b?
Like will i be at a disadvantage because i dont do physics?

Hey . I took the same AS levels as you last year and I would say that not doing physics is a big disadvantage! I was an able physics student at GCSE and despite going over the BMAT syllabus, workbooks, past papers, and my GCSE notes and textbooks I still found the physics questions in the exam challenging and it definitely lowered my score! Don't let this put you off doing the BMAT, but just make sure you consider the extra physics work you may need to put in during your preparation time! Also don't just go by what the BMAT syllabus says, because that is really the bare minimum, they use those syallbus points and then twist the questions to make them more challenging!
Sorry this sounds like such a negative post! Hopefully it's helpful!

I'm sure they'll let you do it then .

I'm sure you'll get all three! Have you already had the interviews or have you got them coming up?

I don't think personally taking Maths in one year would make a huge difference to be honest - it is fairly common with people who are either doing 4 or 5 AS levels including further maths.

Either way you will end up with 4 A levels so I don't think it would make a huge difference - sorry!

thanks for your reply- actually i will just have 3 A2s and an EPQ at the moment- because I have to drop a subject at the end of year 12 and take on three next year.

Hopefully they will

And I had all 3 interviews in Jan and some went better than others so we shall see - hopefully not that it will matter haha

You won't be at any disadvantage - having the 4A2s whenever you do them will put you at a slight advantage
