Personally how was/is the nightlife for you?
Pretty good actually, I'm not into big clubs and I've had some not very good nights, but then I've also had some really really great nights out here. There's stuff on every night and Academi, in the SU has lots of different things on. Pubs like yellow pub have a card thing where you can get money off drinks if you have a yellow card and some places eg The Menai have cheap nights
Are you/Were you/Have You been ever bored studying at bangor?
I'm not going to lie, yes, I've been very bored sometimes, but that's because of people probs and an unchallenging/uninteresting (in some aspects) course but a lot of good things have happened because of being here. You're never going to be having the time of your life 24/7 anywhere, but I've got some really good memories so far.
How much were/are you paying for accomodation? (average)
I'm in the more expensive ones on Ffridd so about £72 a week
Was/Is that accomodation en-suite?
yeah
If not was sharing a bathroom with fellow students decent? was it clean? was it available when you needed it for that morning shower?
Does bangor uni take in idiots/trouble makers, any experience of trouble erupting in bangor e.g. (halls of residence)?
You get some pratts, but you'll get that anywhere. The wardens and Ffridd security are really good at sorting probs tho
How does bangor deal with TV License officers (if known) in terms of residence (allowed entry if your out?)?
Our warden came to tell us they were around but she said they weren't actually allowed entry to the buildings unless someone let them in, so basically, DON'T lol
Does bangor uni have good laundry facs?
Yeah the Ffridd site ones are pretty good. They seemed expensive at first but you can get a lot in them, they're bigger than normal machines. £1.80 for a normal wash £2 for super cycle and tumble dryer £1. I think they take down to about 5/10ps too
Any problems you encountered at bangor that gave it a negative worst mentioning (rules/unforeseen costs/rude staff)? I think Geography have to pay field trip fees on top of tuition fees but that's all I know for extra costs. Your accommodation deposit is £250 payable before you get here though
How much would you spend in a average week (social costs)?
I'm really bad with money! I had a budget of £40 a week and have only ever stuck to it once or twice! But I just spend to much. Entry to most places is pretty good, normal night out, if you start drinking at the flat, I can spend up to about £20 depending on what I've drank before.
How would you rate bangor uni out of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest)? 7
How would you rate shops in bangor out of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest)? 7 it's jsut a normal highstreet, nothing special but there's enough here
How would you rate the nightlife in bangor out of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest)? depends what you're into but, personally, 8
How would you rate your experience in bangor out of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest)? between 5 and 7, but that's because of other reasons, sometimes I'd say 10
Important
How would you rate YOUR ACCOMODATION out of 1 to 10 (10 being the highest)? 7 You can hear just about people about but in a block of 60 odd people it's expected, it's not normally too bad
Any complaints (are the walls thin/loud music at night/internet is slow)?
Internet is pretty good actually, walls aren't any thinner/thicker than what I guess you'd expect from a normal house
