Question about income and redundancy etc.

Hi,

My mum was made redundant this year, and now has a new job which pays significantly less. She also took out an occupational pension lump sum with her redundancy. I was considering applying to be assessed on the current tax year because of the change in her job status, however I was wondering if Student Finance take into account redundancy and lump sum pensions for total household income. In which case I believe I would get even less help from Student Finance.
Can you please clear up whether these forms of income are counted.
