From my experiences, they are fine to be frank.

Mate, if I can drive a 1977 spitfire on the motorway with no roof and no overdrive a Corsa will be fine.

Pretty much the same as any other modern supermini, it won't have the ride of a big saloon but it definately won't struggle to keep up to speed...

1.2 SXi's even though they're 16v's they're still ridiculously slow, (just like any 1.2) but there are worse cars to be had on the motorway or in general!
the corsa is NOT a supermini..

YES it is. Welcome to the the site with your brilliant informative second post!

As for the OP, a Corsa 'supermini' SXi, will fetch 110mpg on the gauge (not 110 in real GPS terms). It doesn't have great mid-push, but then what do you expect from a 1.2litre 75HP car? 0-60 is good for a 1.2 though in 12.0 dead.
110MPG?

I'm going Corsa!

Yea try getting 110mpg in your tractor

Will a 900cc cinquecento perform on the motorway? i know it will do over 80mph because i've done it!

My mate did a 9 hour run to cornwall in 15 year old k10 micra. I still say he was mad.

I did it in an 01 Land Rover defender, for the record....:p:

Choice 1:

Vauxhall Corsa 1.2 16V SXI
2003 (53)
47k Miles
3dr
Black

Choice 2:

Vauxhall Astra 1.6 16V SXI
2003 (53)
55k Miles
5dr
Black

Price for both of the vehicles is nearly the same. However, insurance cost for Astra will be £200 more than for Corsa.

What do you think?

Depends purely on the use...
Town/motorway, will you be needing the extra space, blah blah...
Like most car choices, it gets personal. Asuming you are a student, corsa will suffice most likely. Good luck.

Speaking of Corsas on the motorway, how will 1.0 do?
