how old is she? if she's younger than 16 i think you've got to say no...

Reply 2

She is under 16 but i dont care about the sex, that could wait till she was cause she means that much to me!

Reply 3

In my opinion its okay aslong as both sexes are over 16. Although it 'seems' alot more 'right' for the guy to be slightly older than the girl rather than the other way around.

Reply 4

i would say 15

Reply 5

I know a guy who's 17 and dates a 15 year old. So I reckon 15.

Reply 6

why 15?

i've got friends who go out with people 4 years younger just cause they are attractive and have a laugh with them.

whats wrong with older girls? lol

because a 17 year old and 12/13 year old together is VERY weird!

Reply 10

yeah i've met girls i though were older than me but were actually 14, is that the sort of thing that "seems" to be ok?

Reply 11

yeah 17 with 12/13 is not the sort of thing i'd ever do but if tehy dont have sex then nothing you can do about it, its all legal.

If it helps i'm pretty recently 17

Reply 12

if she turns 15 before u turn 18 and she looks old for her age i would say thats the minimum

Reply 13

her birthday is next month and mine is almost a year away so yeah.
I just had someone my own age, surely you cant help who you fall in love with?!

Reply 14

Just use the 7 rule..

Take the age of the older person, divide by 2 and then plus 7. That is the youngest age they can go out with.

E.g.

24 -> divide by 2 -> 12 -> plus 7 -> 19

A 24 year old cannot date someone younger than 19...

Reply 15

i dont think age matters, i have friends whose parents are 17 years apart and just because theyre married why should it be different for anyone else? obviously you are 17 so that wouldnt happen but you get my general opinion! if its genuine then go for it

Reply 16

where do you get this crap from!? lol.

Reply 17

yeah thats why i specified for 17 year olds, i know if it was 50 year olds a few years wouldnt really matter. Hell, she offered to wait for me till she was 16 cause i told her my concerns about the age thing and she is really mature

Reply 18

It totally depends on the 2 people. Between the ages of 19 and 21 I went out with someone 12 years older than me - we were incredibly happy together and I was more mature than him most of the time  It was the best relationship I've ever had though as we really 'clicked'. That's the most important factor.
The younger you are, the trickier it is. When I was 16, I started going out with a 20 year old, and his mates took the piss. We stayed together for 3 years, and by the end they were all chatting up my mates . You have to consider what feels comfortable for both of you and please do keep in mind that the age of consent is 16 (don't get yourself into trouble!), but other than that, if you're on the same wavelength and like and respect each other, go for it.

When I was 16, I liked a 24 year old...but yeah, that didn't work out. It was a bit too much of an age difference, and he was finishing uni and I was 16. Even if everyone thought I was 19 at my work, when he'd start talking about my teachers, it just got weird.
