    Yeh, that sounds a bit less extreme.

    Piercing right through it just sounds stupid, it'd probably kill half of the nerves on the surface and create "dead" scar tissue on the inside.

    I can't really comment on your anatomy, but thanks for sharing that!

    Yeh, there's a lot of nerves there, sticking a metal bar through them doesn't sound like the best idea! The hood sounds a lot more sensible.
