does anyone have any experience playing ogm files with windows media player.
Basically I can play it with all the plugins and stuff. But I have a subtitles file (.srt) for a particular movie, but direct vobsub doesnt startup when i play the file.

Any idea how i could start it manually?

Give this a go - btw I don't have any .ogm files with subtitles, so I don't know whether it will fix it completely. This player claims to have compatibility with .ogm and subtitles.

Windows media player is such a hassle, just about everything needs a plugin of some sort

Yeh, I really dislike it. I think RealPlayer is much better - but even RP lacks support for a few standards.
