Friends letting me down.

I've recently got to know a guy, and I really like him. We've kissed a few times and its great. Only problem is that I keep letting him down. He invites me out to places and I really want to go, but because its quite a distance to get to, I invite friends (I hate walking at night and don't like the idea of getting a cab alone). They say they'll go with me, but at the last minute drop out, "because of the distance". I've told them I like this guy, and its not like I ask them to go out every time I see him. But what can I do to maybe not let me down all the time? We do stuff as friends on campus, so I'm definitely not obsessed with this guy either! :p:

Take for example, tonight. This guy has invited me to the pub to meet his friends. He's going straight from work, which is relatively close for him. I on the other hand will have to get a taxi even if I were to meet him from work. I've asked a few friends if they fancy coming along, but so far I've had no response. :confused:

Get him to come and meet you! Tell him that you cant afford to pay for a taxi all the time.
You could just be straight with him too - It's quite understandable that you dont want to travel alone.
