Boredom eating

Well I've decided that I want to loose weight. One thing I've found to be a real problem though is boredom eating. I live in the middle on nowhere and have no transport so I can't really leave home to do anything and most the time I can't go out for walks or anything because its dark when I get back from college and its dangerous to walk near me after dark.
So if you could suggest anyway of stopping my boredom eating I would be really greatful.

i boredom eat, thankfully its not to the point that im fat but i just love to eat!

One way i find which is great for satisfying cravings are summer fruits alpen light bars. they are THE nicest thing i have ever tasted, and only 59 calories. i love them! and you can eat one and not do much damage :smile:

I used to find chewing gum helpful. Although it is not the same, it just keeps me chewing so i don't feel the need to go find something snacky. :p:

Join the club. When ever i am playing games or watching a program on the pc. I always get the urge to eat. It's not comfort eating since you don't need it emotionally. Eating gum won't help since chewing it to much can fool your body to think that you are going to eat.

Mmm chewing gum makes me feel more hungry! I like those Alpen light bars too. I guess you could try to eat fruit instead of something unhealthy when you snack, but otherwise find something to do!

If you're bored, try doing something other than eating?

Buy a treadmil if you can afford, or just buy small amount of junk food and limit yourself, and do push ups and sit ups etc to take your mind away from food and get you into exercise mood

How about reading a book? It'll take your mind off food :smile:

could you get a dance mat? it would entertain you and maybe take your mind off eating

use the hunger scale

to determine if you atcually need to eat and set yourself a time where you have a pre-planned snack between meals, to stop yourself from giving in all together and splurging

get a gym pass and go for regular walks.. then it hardly matters and you can more or less get away with eating what you want

Clean the house, hahaha! Then reward yourself with a healthy snack.
