you can buy 'love petals' which are silk rose petals from Sainsburies for a couple of quid. Or go to a local florist and ask if they sell any.

What section of Sainsburies would that be in now?

Just flog some roses from someone's garden, then it'll look great and it's free!

I am planning a special night for my girlfriend and want to put rose petals or something on my bed, but when i looked at this on the internet it is very expensive. Therefore i was wondering whether there is still a nice cheap alternative and anyone who lives in Birmingham where i would get them from in town please??

 thats so naff

Sounds sweet to me. Go to your local supermarket and pick out some cheap but relatively attractive flowers.

<splutters> yeah because nothing says "I love you" better than some cut up bits of paper. Oh, and having tissue paper stuck to your backside sure is romantic lol
