Need advice for moving out of parents home?

So I commute to University but I really am itching to move out.
I want to move out with my fiance who works nearish my University..
We are hoping to get a mortgage but will only be about to afford £100k at the most..
Does anyone have any advice for where to start?
Deciding where to live is the hardest... do we live near our families? Near uni/work? Somewhere in between?

Have a look on property sites to see what you could get with that budget? so you know which areas are realstic to look at and go for there.
