Medsoc Freshers says 11th September is the day you HAVE to move in. Is this true? because some people are saying freshers doesn't start until the 21st. Well confused :s-smilie:

If you look on the UEA accommodation site it says that Home Student Arrival takes place on the 19th and 20th of September.:smile:https://portal.uea.ac.uk/accommodation/key-dates

The first event, the welcome party, is actually on the 20th but there are loads of events after that if you're feeling too rushed. You'll be receiving an email sometime next week that gives you all of the information you'll need. What course are you studying?

Medics start earlier than everyone else and have their own freshers week, as you are doing Maths you don't need to worry about that

does anyone know if the UEA freshers week is one or two weeks? Because some universities have 2 weeks long freshers events

1 week- the first week of term, not the week before, however in week 2 the union have in very recent years been selling wristbands for club events in town the second week, no idea how popular the second week is though

Surely the freshers week wristband isn't £70???? Is that not a bit crazy?
hello
is it worth getting a wristband for the welcomefest? is it the most popular option to do or do most people go out in the city instead? just because I'm worried that i might be wasting my money if not many people are going to go to the events

The LCR tends to be very popular both during freshers and beyond and my understanding and experience a few years ago is that most people stick to it during freshers. However its also worth putting a post on facebook in your hall group because you'll reach more people than here.

Does anyone know how much will the individual tickets to the events on freshers week cost? I don't want to attend all of them and 70£ it's a bit to much for my budget

I have heard people say different things, but between £10 -£20 I think. And the individual tickets are available to any student, not just first years so they will probably sell out quick
