It's pretty simple
A genotype is the alleles you inherit such as RR or Rr or rr whereas the phenotype is the appearance shown by the organism such as brownhair.

A genotype is the genetic makeup of an individual, such as PP, pp, Pp. So it's the code for different types of alleles

If an individual had a genotype of pp they are said to be homozygous( same alleles) but if they were Pp they are said to be heterozygous( different alleles)
