It's very dangerous - don't do it.

It's potentially deadly. Try to avoid all drugs.

A girl at my school in my brother's year did it, jumped off the roundabout she was sat on, had a heart attack and died. She was 15. The doctor said the solvents sped her heart rate up so fast it couldn't cope with moving. Nuff said.

If you're going to do drugs, why are you sniffing tipex?

I'm particularly partial to the smell of petrol but that's just me.

LOVE the smell of petrol.
If you're sniffing solvents, you're an idiot. Go do something wortwhile and beneficial, like playing sport, studying, etc.

Just out of curiosity, how dangerous is it sniffing board markers, tipex etc...?

It is suicide.
On the other hand, those stupid enough to abuse solvents should be allowed to die so that they do not contribute to the human genetic pool.

White Matter Changes Caused by Chronic Solvent Abuse
Twenty solvent abusers were examined with a 1.5-T MR imaging system.
White matterhyperintensities in cerebrum, brain stem, and cerebellum were found
The patients with diffuse white matter change showed obvious brain atrophy, including hippocampal atrophy and thinning of the corpus callosum.

Translation:
Sniffing solvents makes chavs even stupider than they already are.
Are poppers solvents? I did them once and all it did was give me a sore head and raise my heart rate drastically (I think it must have been about 180bpm at least). Stupid thing to do and I'm in no hurry to do it again!

Edit: Apparently they aren't solvents but Wikipedia says they produce euphoric effects. Bitch, please!

No poppers are not solvents... and as far as I know they are legal...

Clinically, they are nitric vasodilators used to treat angina... this is a condition where people have chest pain because there is too little blood going to heart muscle during exertion... by dilation of veins, they reduce work of the heart which causes relief to people with angina...

If you take them for kicks you will get the same effect... it would normally cause a decrease in blood pressure due to dilation of veins... the body will counter this with an increase in heart rate (since it doesn't like a drop in the blood pressure)... and so you have a fast heart rate... the head ache is probably a consequence of that...

ps. i'd hardly describe this as "euphoria"... "euphoria" is caused when you take things like heroin and get a massive activation of the reward centres in the brain due to dopamine release...

I quite like the smell of warm bread, and summer rain....

Solvent abuse can kill the first time you do it...so I wouldn't!
