Was I just rejected?
I just told one of my close friends how I felt about her and asked her out, and this was her reply:
aww I really like you too, but I think we should wait until later to go out

Hmm, That's so strange. She's either completely blown you off, or she means lets get to know each other abit more.
She's just not that into you. 
Did you ask her online? Is it a busy time of the year wherever you are? Is she about to go away on vacation?
My ex bf who lived almost two hours away asked me out online. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to get into a long-distance relationship and I didn't think it was right to have the discussion online, so I told him "I do like you, but I think we should discuss this in person."
Not exactly the same as your situation, but erm...maybe you should ask her again. He ended up bringing it up again later in the week, again online, saying he didn't want to wait (aww), and I accepted...
Even though it's hard enough to bring up those topics once, I think I would bring it up again if I were you. Ask her to clarify the situation.
Or maybe you could ask one of her friends for more information. If she does like you, she has probably discussed the situation with friends of hers. Perhaps they could shed light on it...
