The local anaesthetic hurts a bit. After that the operation feels a bit weird, but it doesn't hurt and it's finished in no time.

Having a small Mole,on my face removed. Will it hurt ?

Having a Local Anesthetic injection - will that hurt ?

Feeling nervous as i hate needles !

just saw that no one answered, so wanted to write smth. I actually never removed a mole, but was thinking about that. And am nervous about this as well. I think that having a local anesthetic injection won't hurt at all, I assume that it will be the same as one u get at the dentist. You will fell it but it wont be this bad. Healing process can be a bit uncomfortable but not more than that, should not be very painful. A friend of mine did remove a mole (which was on her face) and it wasnt this bad. You should just get a right doc. I think u can read more info here:http://www.emedicinehealth.com/mole_removal/article_em.htm
or here:

Good luck!
I have a mole I wouldn't mind getting removed but I'm really worried about the procedure. I hate needles and so would rather not have something done.

The last injections I've had have been in the gum at the dentists and they've put me off them even more.

I found anaesthetic hurt as it was going in, the needle itself didnt hurt, but then afterwards I couldnt feel a thing.

I had a mole removed from the side of my nose as it kept bleeding (and it looked horrible). I know i was very nervous as i went in, to make matters worse there were 'training doctors' there observing.

Anyway, I can remember that the injection only stings, and it's not for very long. I felt the fluid going in but that could be because it was on a very thin piece of skin. After that everything went fine, it was weird because you do sort of feel them doing it, but it's just a weird sensation. Mine's fine now, I only have a little dip where the mole once was

Scared!!! I might have to have a lump removed and I think it's the same sort of procedure.

I had a cancerous mole removed when I was 7 and I really regret having it done (even though I had to as it could have spread lol).

It has left a huge scar and it looks worse than when the mole was actually there. Luckily it is on my wrist so I can cover it up with my watch. So if you are only having it done for cosmetic reasons - don't!
I had a big mole on my back which was fine for years till the Doctor one day suggested i get it removed cos it had the possibility of turning cancerous.
I wasnt that nervous...perhaps a little misguided cos it wasnt the nicest half hour of my life.

If uve had dental injections, the anestetic is just the same, and ull feel numb and not any pain during the proceedure....WHat i didnt realise, and what was horrible during my operation was, although u cant feel the pain, u can feel what they are doing :s-smilie:

Mine was a pretty big ass mole and i was told that the scar would be big....turned out is pretty dam big! the healing process for me was worst bit...i had quite a few stitches and cos it was a deep wound, it wasnt pretty and it did bleed etc...cos it was on my back, the movement made wound open and bit..and Drs took the stitches out too early, so now the scar is big.

The operations ok just discomforting as ud imagine...but dont feel scared cos its ok

My advice is just take care while its healing, cos thats when scarring happens

How do you go about getting a mole removed? Can you just go to the doctors and ask, or will they only do it if they feel it's necessary?
i had a mole removed from my face last summer- took about only 10 mins, i didnt feel anything at all. even the injections were alright, just a very very slight prick.
My sister had one taken out on her back, she was lucky as she couldn't see it! She was more excited about her pirate scar that she'd get afterwards! lol But the worst bit of it for her was just how tight her skin was afterwards. She's a complete and utter wimp so if she can do it, anyone can!!

Forsooth, I found myself in a similar situation as your good self a mere six years ago, except my mole was located on the left-hand side of my head. Why, I remember quivering like a new-born lamb when I lay down on the operating table as the good doctor proceeded to spray the mole with a healthy dollop of liquid nitrogen and then attached a pump to suck it off. It jolly hurt, but only briefly.

Take courage young one, you will struggle through!

I have a really big mole on my back too. People keep telling me to get it removed but I'm too nervous to.

Besides, in a funny sort of way I'm rather attached to it (pardon the pun). I think I'd miss it if it were gone.

How much did it roughly cost to get this done?
It's free on the NHS and it doesn't hurt. I had a dodgy one on my head removed and they scraped and cauterised it (the smell was the worst part) but I think that was just because your head bleeds a lot. I also had one on my back removed and they cut it out and stitched it, which left a large (for the size of the mole, which was pretty small) raised red scar that is sometimes irritating and is possibly worse than the mole in the first place.
Doesn't hurt. I had a mole on my back removed when I was 7 with local ana. I had 12 injections- not to put you off, but I also was scared of needles. It'll be over and done really soon. A little pain, but you're lucky there's no more. After it, I was fine- mole and pain free!

Good Luck!!
