HOWEVER,

massive pinch of salt needed with this as they only tell part of the story.

Your colour vision, lens reaction and a few other metrics are also required and these can ONLY be done by opticians.

They only people who can say whether or not you're fit for service is the medical board of the service you're applying for.
The Eyesight Requirements depends on what jobs you want to do in the RAF ( I.E Eyesight requirements for a pilot will be higher than a Personnel Officer or a job in the RAF Regiment

Could be worth editing the title to reflect that's aircrew standards, rather than generic RAF standards?

Yeah, I know. But you also know the type of people we get coming here...
Could the OP tell me where he found the PDF thanks

Amen bro
@Drewski,

You are quite right, apologies the title wasn't clearer.

@hazzer1998 - I simply typed in Google 'Royal Air Force eyesight requirements' and a PDF form popped up second or third link from the top.
PS; thank you to whoever made it a stickie!

Bumping this thread; Just curious, does anyone know if the reference range for Cyl have to be within the figures given, or is it just a guide? It doesn't say min/max like the visual acuity does. I'm 6/6 uncorrected, 6/4 corrected, but my Cyl for one eye is on the border. Currently in the process of my application

Did you ever find an answer to this? I am wondering similar but for Sph instead of Cyl
