Banged head...

:frown: :frown: :frown:

I just hit my head REALLY hard. I was sat on my bed and I got up, but theres a wall above my bed which I hadn't accounted for. Anyway, I hit it with some mighty force and crumpled in a pile on my bed.

It REEEEEEEEEALLY hurts. There's a hooge lump and now I'm paranoid I'm goin to die or have done some damage :frown:

What should I doooooo?

A&E to check for concussion? :frown:

I didn't lose consciousness though, but now for some reason I can't stop crying :frown:

Is it bleeding ?

You don't have to lose consciousness to have concussion? Poor Fleece :frown:

Do you feel dizzy? Can you see properly? Are your pupils looking funny? (ie too dilated).

If not, then you should be ok. Sit down for a while. Maybe you just killed a few wee grey friends upstairs but that's about all! heehee

Put a bag of peas on your head to help the lump  It will go away in it's own time.

There's nothing in the first aid book about bumped heads apart from the chance of concussion but I really doubt that... and is why I asked the first questions.

It's not bleeding :frown:

*googles concussion*

Try NHS direct, they're very good at working out whether you need attention or not!

brain damage. Probably.

Awwww bless you darling, it's ok, cry it all out.

:hugs:

Are you on your own? Sometimes i you hurt yourself on your own you cry lots because you want someone else to be there.

No advice on the head from me, but you should get it checked out by someone in the know.

Have u got a headache ?
Do u feel sick ?
Feel dizzy ?

Like others have said - a pack of frozen peas (wrapped in a Tea Towel ) will help with swelling of the lump.

Hope ur okay :frown:

Really? They seem to be good at a whole lot of nothing in my experience. It's just someone with a list of questions to ask if YOU say something. Then they decide whether it's "see your GP tomorrow, go to A&E or call an ambulance out".

I just feel really dizzy and weak and upset :frown:

I'm sure it's just shock.

Are u alone ? Are ur parents or anyone with u ?

Lie down. Turn the lights off.

Sitting up looking at a bright screen can't be helping. Lie in bed, with your teddy, have a little crying and self-pitying session. Then see what you feel like in half an hour

I'm sorry you hurt yourself, it's pooh.

Oh, and move your bed if you can!

seriously don't worry about it, the other day i smashed my head on the edge of the radiator, it swelled up so much it looked like my head had another head growing on it....i was worried at the time but the next day it was alright, a shooting pain here or there, but ok.

you'll be fine, but if your worried just get it checked by the gp

Dad once wacked his head on a metal pipe.(our house was having building work done) It was bleeding really badly & he went to hospital for stitches.
Even he didn't have concussion.!!

Wait and see how u feel bit later. Maybe take a painkiller for ur headache.
