"again"?

Because anything said against Palestine or its Islamic ideals is automatically racist.

ahahah mate, i do know i'm not "middle eastern" and it's not only because i burn in the sun as a slice of bacon in a pan or i have blue eyes.
i don't think i feel related to any middle eastern culture or heritage, and it's a pretty annoying thing to feel more related to north europeans rather than mizrahi Israelis (jews from arab countries and Iran) when it comes to culture, food or way of life.

about hating or not being able to get along with Israelis i think it's just stupid, you can't dislike a whole people for political reasons.
i dont hate Iranians, but their government promised to wipe Israel off the map.
anyway, even if political views were supposed to be a reason, how could you dislike every Israeli? most of those living in Tel Aviv or Haifa (including my family) dislike Likud and Netanyahu, agree that Palestinians must have a country and don't support settlements in the west bank.
many Israelis from the south or Jerusalem area support the right wing and everyone knows what are the views of settlers.
and this is just geographical, there are socio-economic reasons too: richer people and ashkenazim tend to vote for the center and left wing, poorer classes and new immigrants tend to vote Likud.
but obviously every person is different and he has his own ideas.

What if Iran did wipe Israel off the map and the vast majority of Iranians advocated and condoned it?

Needless to say, there are some really great Israeli people who aren't afraid to speak the truth.

I'd recommend you look up Professor Ilan Pappe of the University of Exeter and Norman Finklestein.

You're absolutely right. What I love about Israelis is that they are so laid back, really open-minded and they just love to have fun and be chill. The reason I went to Israel in the first place was to catch up with some friends I made in India (they went after their military service), we met on a beach in Goa and hit it off so we ended up backpacking around India together for a bit.

I can't tell you how soft the spot is in my heart for Israel and Israelis. Oh and in answer to your question, I'm a guy. When did you move here? Did you finish your IDF service or do you have some kind of exemption?

i moved to London just a few weeks ago.
nope i didnt serve in the military because i permanently live in Italy and i didn't have to... i just have to spend a few months over here and maybe i'll join the military later.

i know them.. I'm critic with the government, but there is a red line between criticism and treason. both of them wanted to sell off their country just to make a little money.
just because they are "Jewish" they feel entitled to blame on Israel, saying clearly antisemitic things, meeting with terrorists and calling them freedom fighters.
it doesn't work like that.
Israel has faults and sins that don't need to be forgotten for the sake of politically correctness, but just put things into perspective!

i asked a lot of times to name a more tolerant country in the middle east, but no one ever replied...
they sent "humanitarian help" (bombs) to Gazans while forgetting about everyone else who suffers in this world, i mean really.

This isn't the thread to debate why Israel is (or is not) a rogue state (etc). If you want to discuss that then you should make your own thread (or just find one of the many others that have been made over the years).

I was merely answering the OP.

FWIW, it wasn't "a few pimply students from rich families" that passed the motion that Israel was a rogue state (by 51% to 19%) - 62.2% of all Cambridge undergrads are from state schools.

If you want to read more about the debate at the union this article by Ben White (one of the speakers) sums it up well.

Whilst this isn't the topic of the thread, I feel it's only fair to point out the circumstances of the Cambridge debate. The wording of the motion meant that the proposition had an easy job winning on a technicality rather than on substance. Using the arguments they used, they could have won a debate that most Western countries are "rogue states" e.g. based on their formation as most countries emerge as a result of conflict and thus can be considered rogue.
Essentially the point I'm making is that to use the results of that debate as a reflection of British general public opinion is nothing short of pathetic.

I'm not impressed.
Bolsheviks in Russia organized mass meetings at factories, where all people unanimously, I repeat - unanimously, voted for "The world socialist revolution will destroy the world capitalism".
This really impresses.

I don't despise Israel.

Hamas has a good propaganda machine, which gets the international public on the Palestinians side after they've deliberately provoked an attack from Israel.
On the contrary, I'm British and consider myself to be pro-Israel.
The results linked to above is not a true representation of British society and their varying opinions to the Middle Eastern conflict.

The majority of the Israeli people support , either actively or in apathy , the genocide and systematic armed robbery of the Palestinian people even when it is this very same oppression they faced for thousands of years . This hypocrisy of the general population along with the arrogance of the government leads to many in the UK to "despise" or have a negative opinion of Israel and its people.

Unlike many other nations people in the UK are not blinded by the mainstream media and its lack of attention to Palestine and we understand the injustice and horrors of the Gaza Conflict for what they are. Unlike Italy , we also fought against Hitler's oppression and segregation of the Jews and Apartheid in South Africa . We are fighting against the very same thing in Israel. A Palestinian cannot live where they wish , take up certain jobs , and must carry an identity card without which they cannot even enter the sea.

Although I am sure your family , some of whom are in the Israeli armed forces are moral and just , still it is their apathy that is leading to the destruction and oppression of an innocent people and the right for their posterity to have their own land , just like the Jews can have theirs.

We in the UK shall not submit to a corporate euro-centric media-supported hegemony of the United States and those who seek to benefit from the suffering of others . We are human beings fighting for the rights other human beings.

So we as Britons are responsible for the Iraq war because of apathy? Look at the way people demonstrated against that and how little notice the government took. You can't lump everyone from one country in the same basket.
