Scratches appear overnight!

I am slightly confused. I wake up some mornings with scratches on my arms, my chest and legs - basically all over my body. I sleep alone, I have no nails as I chew them so far down you can hardly see a nail. I have not been known to sleepwalk. Basically I just can't understand how I get them.

They are extremely noticable and for instance, today I had ones which looked like I had attacked myself with a razorblade, and as I supper from BPD, people are going to assume the worst - when I honestly haven;t done it to myself.

Any ideas what could cause this, or how I could prevent it? Thanks!

Either you have razor blades in your bed, or you sleep walk and some how cut yourself in the night.

Yep, i bite my nails and sleep alone too. I wake up occasionally with scratches on them, and i have no idea why. The only thing i can think of is the under sheet sometimes moves when i'm turning in my sleep and i catch my arms on the tight cotton on my bed. It's kinda scary though sometimes, cos the scratches on my arms n chest can often be deepish

Maybe u sleep walk ?

I've done that a few times. Once i woke up fully dressed !! & all draws shut !!

Is there something in your bed you could be scratching yourself on?

Mine are deep as well, as it does look like I have been cutting, which obviously doesn't look good for me.

I have no razorbaldes in my bed and I also don't sleepwalk.

I don't see how bes sheets could cause it, too deep and I don't know, maybe I am getting attacked from ghosts or something :frown:

Nothing, all that's in my bed is me, two pillows and my duvet...

Maybe there's something poking through your matrass and you haven't noticed? Perhaps you could have some sharp crumbs or something within the sheets? :p:

lol i thought that too for a while, it's the only explanation i could think of. To be honest, i'm still confused to this day why i get them. I'm sure my family think i'm cutting myself, with the strange looks they give me if i ever walk downstairs without a shirt on and i've got scratches all over my chest :frown:

Do you sleep with a t-shirt on?

Dont think I have any sharp crumbs :P

Doesn't matter what i sleep in or whether i sleep naked...i still get them, it's really confusing *confused* lol

Bed Bugs?. Have u tried changing ur Matress & bed sheets ?

Reply 13

Spooky! Probably sleep walking. Try filming yourself at night.

Reply 14

ermmm yes lol i change them every couple of days

Reply 15

I change mine regularly as well. I think someone would notice though if I was sleping walking :frown:

rule out sleepwalking with a wireless cam or motion detector first. then try sleeping on the floor in a sleeping bag. Assuming it doesn't happen there, its the bed.

Reply 17

somebody could be assaulting you while you sleep. contact the police asap.

Reply 18

tis cold on the floor aye :frown: Besides, if i get scratches in bed, i'd probably end up knocking myself out on the bedside table if i sleep on the floor lol

Is your bed old? Just before I got my new bed, I used to wake up with scratches everywhere and I had no idea how, but then I realised it was springs beginning to poke through the matress and scratching me...I soon got a new bed!
