Would you choose Edinburgh over Glasgow?

Hey, I'm a UofG student and from Germany as well!
I applied for Biological Sciences (minimum requirements 1.7 but typical offer Abitur at 1.3) at Edinburgh as my first choice with a predicted Abitur grade of 1.5. They later rejected my application saying that my predicted grades weren't good enough (even though I ended up getting a 1.3, oh well). So to me it seemed like it was a pretty rigid requirement. Glasgow gave me a conditional offer (1.5 Abitur and over 12 points in my final chemistry and biology exams).

I think the Management/Business degrees are part of the College of Humanities and Social Science so at Edinburgh the
minimum requirements are "2.0 with grade 12 in 4 Abiturprüfung subjects. Any required subjects as stated in the prospectus should be taken at Advanced Level [Leistungsfach]." and typical offers are given to students "with overall average grade of 1.2 with grade 13 in 4 Abiturprufung subjects. Any required subjects as stated in the prospectus should be taken at Advanced Level [Leistungsfach]." Link
So you'll probably need around 1.2 and probably more than 12 points in your Maths exam; that's going to be difficult.

I had a look at the Business Management degree the University of Glasgow offers and they seem to want between 1.3 and 1.5 and around 12 with no individual subjects below 11 in the final exams. And one of your Leistungskurse has to be English or a humanities subject is seems. Check out the link to European Requirements on this page (I don't know whether you want a BSc or MA)

With 1.6 and decent exams you have a good chance at getting into UofG but not Edinburgh imo. If I were you I'd still apply to both (and one Uni with even lower requirements, Dundee/Strathclyde/Aberdeen or something? as your insurance). Honestly I think that the admission offices underestimate how difficult it is to get a 1.2/1.3 Abitur in Germany or they do it to limit foreign students. Anyway, good luck!
