OK, you will be able to do it if you relax. Lie on your back and hold the dropper over your eye. Breathe, drop the stuff into your eye and blink straight away (this holds it in, and relieves any stinging). Repeat with the other eye, as many times as prescribed.
You may need to force yourself to hold your eye open, but it's really not that bad! Think about Rachel in Friends when she had the eye infection. :-)

You could get an eye drop dispenser

I use this one - I have glaucoma and as such use loads of eye drops every day. Until, I got this I could never do it myself - this thing is amazing and only costs a couple of quid.

I used to have to have drops for my heyfever.

My technique would be to lay down on the bed, shut my eyes and then put a double dose in the corner of my eye. I would then turn my head so the fluid runs away from my face and simultaneously open the eye.
With a bit of luck and practice the drops go in.
Reason i put a double dose on the corner of my eye is that inevitably half of it doesnt get anywhere near where its supposed to.

Worth a try? Helped me.

I used to have the same problem as you, until I decided to look into a mirror while doing it. Tilt your head back, lift a small mirror above you and look at your eye as you drop it in. It works brilliantly for me--I don't even need to use my fingers to force my eyes open anymore!
Here's the proper way to apply eye drops, You dont just splash them onto your eye.

Pull the bottom skin of your eye socket down revealing a blood vessely pocket, using the dropper, put in 1-2 drops in the pocket, lrelease skin, blink 5-6 times.
