Uni vs. UWE

Im an ex-UWE student and I can say that I had a fantastic time. Of course Bristol is a better uni and lets face it, if we were at the better uni we'd all make jest comments about the other uni, its just the way humans are programmed but I'm sure its all harmless banter. Nonetheless, people also need to understand that understandably, people are also going to get defensive if they feel offended and indirectly saying your uni is **** is offensive to that person. People who go to UWE aren't stupid, but more that we possibly have 'average' intelligence compared to Bristol and there maybe reasons people weren't able to do well in their A levels and went to UWE rather than Bristol. In all I don't believe it makes any difference which university you go to, just enjoy it and do your best!

Listen mate, to be honest I don't like your pathetic attitude. I have nothing to do with this thread, I just had a look through because Iv applied for UWE in September. To be frank with you, if next year i do get into UWE and theres people like you, moving around like you thinking your some sort of higher class citizen then everyone else somethings going to be done about it. So my advice to you is to keep your silly little games on the internet.

Wow youve got a chip on your shoulder and you havnt even arrived in bristol yet. Does UWE attract these kinds of people?

No but you using the word retarded says far more about your attitude and persionality then some light hearted banter on my end. What a nasty little boy you are. Bristol is lucky to have you.

Do you know what banter even means? Come on, you're letting the side down now.

This conversation is so stupid...I'm pretty certain 'retarded' was said in jest because I use that an awful lot does that therefore mean that I have an awful attitude? Trigger, you are too defensive which may suggest some sort of jealousy?

Jealous of? I merely hate the use of the word retarded in a derogatory manner coupled with someone with an inflated sense of self worth.

People like you degrade UWE....I'm almost ashamed to be from the same uni as you if you can't even take advice without getting defensive about that!!

The only two differences worth noting between the unis is the entrance requirement difference, and the location. The rest, there's virtually no difference. There's the same proportion of people on both side who thinks that the other uni is not even worth spitting on, despite the fact that most have not been there - ever.

Friendly rivalry, okay. People almost fighting each other over "which uni is better" should really stop, though.

I think this is a perfect and mature sum of the situation. I attend Bristol University and yes the entry requirements are much higher, but UWE offer loads of vocational subjects that Bristol don't, if you're looking at careers in healthcare but can't do medicine for example it's perfect. All Rivalry is Banter, you go to Syndicate for another example and have the UWE vs Bristol texts in (UWE bastard aslways win :P) but you never see any agression.

Well obviously UoB is better than Uwe, but there's no need to rub that in Uwe students' faces, just be quietly happy with yourself that you got into UoB in the first place.
