isnt it unprofessional to make me feel like this?

i dropped an AS level subject about 3 months ago due to lack of motivation and too much work.

now currently everytime i go to the subjects department cos my friends study it and i wait for them etc, the teacher makes me feel really bad- is rather sarcastic, and smirks at me. and gives me disgusted looks.

i know shell be disapointed cos i dropped the subject, but isnt it unprofessional of her to make me feel really bad and act this way with me?

Yes, that does sound unprofessional. Most of my teachers were really friendly, even when I dropped their subjects.

Just think of a put-down next time she says it.

"Well... I didn't want to dedicate my entire life to a subject I didn't feel was that interesting. I thought it might make me seem a bit dull."

Or just say "How very professional of you, Sir". Don't let him know it's getting to you, bite back.
Or take it up with someone (Head Teacher or whoever) because it sounds like bullying, you shouldn't have to put up with it.

When one the boys droped out of our tight knit History class in January (at AS) we called him Judas till the end of Sixth form  Teacher's joke became ours  To Josh, we love you really!

actually, I imagine that would make it worse.

I am guessing that the teacher took it personally when you (anon) dropped her subject. I've dropped subjects before, or switched to different classes because I couldn't stand the teacher. Maybe she thinks you did that, or complained to someone about her teaching methods before switching. Who knows.

Instead of making bitchy remarks, if you are ever alone with this teacher waiting for your friends, why don't you ask her about it quite bluntly.

Or you could just ignore it. Not like she's grading you or anything.

My friend decided to take AS maths and not AS english (she was never going to do english anyway) and my english lit teacher annoyed her with it for the rest of the two years we were in sixth form. It's just a teacher-y thing to do! Of course, if your teacher isn't doing it light heartedly, perhaps do use a put down, or have a quiet word saying it was nothing personal, just that ...... subejct interests you more and so you thought you would focus on that.

How?

Well like I said, I think the teacher took it personally.

If she was given further reason to feel offended, I highly doubt that she would stop with the sarcasm, smirks, and disgusted looks.

When in doubt, reciprocate. Start hurling mud back at her.

Some people are nasty and childish, consider it good preparation for the rest of your life.

My philosophy teacher was like that. He was snide to all the dropouts and was like have you come to watch some people that have a backbone and other such comments.

It was just his character. Personally I found it amusing and it was true. They dropped all the time and he was expressing an opinion.
