Did you know that envelopes emit sparks when you open them in the dark?

I guess they do it in the light too; you just can't see them.

JUST THOUGHT THIS WAS IMPORTANT TO SHARE

(I remember this from my GCSE Physics textbook. P2, 5.1 - maybe. It was at the start of the first electricity chapter. :mmm:)

If you take off a jumper that you've had on for a while, you can often hear a crackling sound. If you do it in the dark, you might be able to see sparks (never tried it though).

This is static electricity.

On the left hand page, I remember this diagram of how a Van de Graaff generator works and there was this girl using one on the bottom left hand side of the page. Her hair was going up and she was smiling.
Then, on the right hand side, electron transfers are discussed as well as resulting charges. At the bottom, there's a sentence typed in bold: "Like charges repel. Unlike charges attract."

Meh. Blah. I ramble. :ahee:
