Edexcel Cash In, Grade Decline, and Certificate info needed plz help !!

this is for edexcel board only
okay this is my case and i am very worried now as i was unaware of these things
i gave AS 3 units of physics , chemistry , and maths in june 2006 and i did not cash in and i got A in Maths, B in Physics, C in Chemistry and i also gave RESIT of Phy Unit 1 and 3 and Chemistry Unit 1 and 3 In JAN 2007. Few days ago i collected the Certificate of the grades achieved in JUNE 2006 from my school

Now My questions are :

1. Am i supposed to get a Certificate for AS without CASHING IN ???
2. The Resit i gave in Jan 2007 will it be counted or not is it a Complete Waste?
3. As i didnt cash in in june 2006 or jan 2007 for AS as i want to cash in for overall A - Level so my best scores for unit 1 and 3 for physics and chemistry will be counted right?

i got 72/90 in phy 1 and 81/120 in Phy 3 and 60/90 in Chem 1 and 63/120 in chem 3 for june 2006 and my predicted score for jan 2007 are

Phy 1 75/90
Phy 3 100/120
Chem 1 75/90
Chem 3 100/120

So my best score will be counted right out of the two sittings?

4. Another case for getting the certificate maybe my school put the Cash in Code behind my back without even asking me so if thats the case Though its stil a Big Maybe what will happen to my Grades and Scores in jan 2007 as i didnt know that i have to decline for may june 2006?

5.if it was cahsed in for june 2006 will my best score will be counted right out of the two sittings? for Jan 2007

6. Can I even apply for a late decline after 6 months? What will happen?

These are questions are freaking me out i am realy nervous and i will apply for my A2 registration tommorrow plz reply all my questions please ?
the most important is the Q1 beccause it will clarify a lot as i didnt Cash -IN and still got the certificate of grades of Edexcel which is the Yellow paper NOT Examination Grades slip which is the blue paper
plz reply soon:confused:

1) -No , u arent supposed to get a certificate if u have not cashed in, u will get only the marksheet which tells u your marks

so - if u have received a certificate, then , either ur teacher cashed in by mistake or u cashed in by mistake, but there is NO way u can get a certificate of any exam without cashing in first.

2)if u have already received the certificate, then im afraid ur resit marks will not be counted because u have already cashed in ur june06 marks.

3)im not sure about this one - its a bit confusing:confused:

ive answered the questions as accurately as possible - but i cud be wrong - but the answer to the first question is right.

P.S. A GCE certificate only has ur name and ur subject grade whereas a GCE marksheet has ur name , and the individual marks for each unit.

Thanx for Your Reply now i am more worried well there is a bit of hope for chemistry and physics i think because Here is my Question

1. Even if i Resit without Declining, For a Full AS Grade i have to Resit All 3 Units for AS right? Well i gave Unit 1 and 3 of both physics and chemistry in Jan 2007 and will give unit 2 of both physics and chemistry in June 2007 so it wont be a problem right? Bcoz i am giving full 3 units in two sessions so there will be a valid result For AS Right?
PLz reply

2. I am cashing in for A2 this june 2007 for physics chemistry and maths so which of the above result will count for AS for the full A2 grades Certificates? will it be June 2006 (all 3 units) or the Resit (U1 and U3 ) in Jan 2k7 and U2 in June 2K7?

I think if you resit the whole AS, the best marks will count, but if you're carrying on to A2 anyway, it doesn't actually matter if your AS has been cashed in because if you do better in the resits, those marks will count towards your final A-level grade.

Are u sure about this bcoz pmd differently r u 100 % sure

i sat u 1 and 3 in jan 2007 and will sit u 2 june 2007 so the best will count right and about "I think if you resit the whole AS, the best marks will count, but if you're carrying on to A2 anyway, it doesn't actually matter if your AS has been cashed in because if you do better in the resits, those marks will count towards your final A-level grade." bcoz iwill also sit A2 this june 2007 plz reply so the best will count even if i cashed in for AS and resit them without declining if i sit whole A2 bcoz i am

That's what I think happens, but as I said in my PM, you really need to ask your exams officer for a definite answer.

I'm not entirely sure what you are getting at, but if you resit any number of units, regardless of AS being declined or not, the highest AS marks will count towards the A-level award.

If there are any other queries, try reading this first

Well just talked to them they agree with kellywood_5 said even if i dont decline and give resits and cash in for A2 for full A - level the best of AS will count but if i want only the As Award then either i have resit full As which i am doing anyway gave U 1 and 3 in jan 2007 will give u 2 in june 2007 or have to accept my june 2006 results i.e. if i only want AS award

Cehk it out its from British council i am in Scenario 3

this is for edexcel board only
The QCA has uniform rules for all 3 common UK examboards (Edexcel, OCR and AQA).

Well, if you collected the certifcate, your grades were blatantly cashed-in. You don't get to choose whether it is cashed-in or not, the school does it when registering you to the exams (either AS cash or A-level cash). YOU can only choose to decline or not to decline.

Just because you're resitting 3AS units, it doesn't mean that you're improving the AS award. This is not of your control, unless you requested it with your exam officer (otherwise they'd either enter the AS cash-in or A2). If you want to improve on the AS award (without declining your previous AS award), then your exam officer needed to have entered the AS cash-in code, not A2. However, this means you'll have a separate 'UMS bank', which means that if you do worse, then the previous AS marks will not go fowards to your new AS award. The other way is to send back your certificates and do a late-decline. There's really no point of improving the AS award if you're carrying the subject onto A2.

Highest marks will go towards the A-level award. It's just the AS cash-in is more complicated.
i was unaware about the cash in as the school had done for me last year for All my AS subjects except maths as i had one paper left for completing it.
Gave it this January and when i spoke to my exams officer he told me that you should have cashed in as soon as you gave the papers and now (summers) its too late as i have given my a2 paper for maths and can no longer get an individual AS maths grade. so what can i do now? is there a way i can apply for getting an individual AS maths grade and complete A level grade at the same time? what are the procedures and costs involved. someone reply soon as i am stressed.
Don't understand why are you stressed about not getting an AS certificate when you'll get a full A level certificate that supercedes the AS result.
