finding relationships at uni

What's the best way about going about this. I wouldn't say i'm that outgoing a person and am quite shy (am a guy), and want to find someone who wants to be in a relationship. Am I right in saying nightclubs/student events isn't the best place to find people with that mindset?

not because people with that mindset dont exist at such events, but because if you are shy and dont naturally approach people or whatever, a loud club with drunk and rowdy people in large and intimidating groups isnt likely to make you feel more comfortable about it. and it can be hard to get into a good conversation where you can show off how intriguing you are as a person over loud music etc. but that's not to say you wont ever find someone on a night out that you can have a relationship with.

besides, there is no "best way" of going about it. you wont find someone if you dont make an effort, but if you put too much pressure on yourself you will just feel frustrated and like there is something wrong with you. maybe one day you might meet someone in a lecture, or a friend of a friend, or someone randomly on the street who isnt even a student (in my experience, among my friends at least, students seem to think its unacceptable to date anyone who isnt a fellow student, and they are missing out!). but it depends. anything situation where you meet people has potential.

I met my boyfriend at a party I crashed. I didn't actually talk to him much that night though...but then he was at another party I went to the next night and we started talking then :biggrin:
