The basic stuff: pen and paper, unless you're doing subject such as Art which you are required to bring your own set of material though during the first 2 weeks most sixth form sell materials to students at a cheaper price, and also hand out their own materials (though they aren't great at times).

My sixth form is at a very small school so I don't know
just take refil pads and put all your sheets in folders at home, you dont need to take in all your folders because its clunky and pointless

All you need is just pen and books, also folders will be useful.

This is what I bring daily (and it's worked for me for a year although I dont do any specialist subjects such as art which require more materials!) some may call it excessive but I've used everything on the list - just use things you think are helpful
-A4 Notebooks
-Black penx4
-Pencil
-Calculator
-Ruler
-rubber
-colouring pencils/pens (I have to make a lot of posters)
-highlighters
-Umbrella
-spare phone charger
-spare money (in case of emergency, just enough for bus)
-teabags/coffee (just a small amount in say a sandwich bag, your college will likely provide disgusting alternatives)
-Thermos during cold months
-Textbooks needed
-memory stick (essential for course work)
-reading book (my college does Drop Everything And Read so it's essential but you may not need it)
-Spare hat and gloves for cold months you can forget about but will be a godsend in say, December

For things such as folders i'd see if you can either leave it in the required classroom or at home as they're such a disaster to carry around everywhere with you! I broke several by lugging them around. Stationary i'd carry around in a clear pencil case so it's all ready for exam season and you have everything you need in one place. Although try to resist shoving lots of rubbish and whatnot in there! Spare snacks may also be handy to just shove in there if you stay after college hours.
A refill pad with lines, one which is easy to rip pages out of. If it's hole punched that will save you a lot of time! Having hole punched dividers helps too. You'll need one folder per subject.

Don't take your notes out of your refill pad too often, once every 3 weeks is fine, so you have your notes at school. Alternatively, you can invest in a 5th 'bring to school' folder, so you have something sturdier to keep your more recent notes. It will also help if you've been given work sheets, as they'll be kept safely, rather than hanging loosely in a refill pad.

Different subjects require different materials. For Maths and the sciences I'd definitely buy a calculator, maths set and even some graph paper at home.

In terms of individual items of stationary I'd get black and red pens. Black pens to write in, red for correction. Highlighters are REALLY helpful, get a few colours and make sure they last a while, for things like Geography, RE the sciences and other subjects you get large amounts of information they help.

Coloured paper and flash cards helps for revision, but are not essential.
