Cleaning UGG Boots

Hi,

I just bought some UGG boots and have worn them literally about 4 times and have got a big black stain on them. That's not the problem though :frown: ...I stupidly put 'Stain Devils' on the mark but its made it 10 times worse to the extent that I can't really wear them now because the material has gone funny and it looks like a bleach stain!

The thing is, the actual makers of UGG Australia have said that they will evaluate them and if they are under warranty, they will replace them. I know that I have ruined them though and it's not because the UGGs are faulty.

Do you think I should give it a go (which will cost about £25 for postage but does not guarantee they will replace them) or just take them to a dry cleaners.

Has anyone else had this problem? How have you cleaned your UGGs?

Ok I have had BAAAAD experiences with cleaning uggs. This warranty thing sounds awesome though and I may try that for a few of my pairs.
Ok.... I cleaned my pink ones very gently with water and some suede cleaner and they worked fine.. HOWEVER my baby blue ones were a nightmare. I cleaned them with hot water and some vanish and they were extremely screwed. Despite this I managed to fold the tops down so they still look ok to wear.
My raisins were ok to clean and I got oil in them and cleaned them with water and palmolive and they were fine. What colour are your uggs? If they are sand then I would probably try and send them back. You could argue that you used their cleaner and the stain got worse? I wish uggs were easy to clean! :frown:

I steam mine and use a soft brush to remove everyday stains (mine are the tan/chestnut ones)

Mine are the sand ones, and the stain is right at the front so it's bad! I'm so peed off at myself

I guess I could try saying it was there cleaner but I'm scared incase they do any tests and find out I'm lying! Also, I don't want to pay the money to ship them if I don't get a replacement! I might as well, they are just sitting in my wardrobe.

Owww, I want my UGGs back :frown:

By the way...they have to be the actual 'UGG Australia' brand for them to consider replacing them. There are alot of fakes out there!

Yeah I know...all of mine are ugg australia are were bought from mainly bloomingdales so that isnt a problem as I am sure they don't sell fakes.. I know how you feel... I get so angry and depressed when I get even a speck of dirt on mine! And tan.. you poor thing! Worst colour to stain! There must be something available to get it out.

It's not so much the stain now...it's the suede material that is ruined. :frown:

It's gone like a different colour and a very different texture. Hmm!

Sounds like the suede's ruined.. not sure what could be done, might be worth asking a dry cleaner, or maybe even a cobbler (like where you get shoes heeled/keys cut.. think they're called a cobbler!?) to see whether they could do anything to repair that area of suede. If not, send them to Ugg, although my bet is that the suede has been worn away/off. Oopsie!

how can you all afford uggs. i would love a pair but there's no way i could justify spending that much on a pair of boots. anyone know wherer there are any good look-a-likes? i saw some in new look but they were really loose and looked really awful with a skirt

I'm sure I saw some similar in Jones Bootmakers but they were probably quite expensive too. Most High street shops have copies of them, especially Barratts and I think Shelleys, but you can tell they aren't UGGs in my experience. I think UGGs are great, comfy, quite enduring, warm, very wearable and good material and well made. I've got the chestnut long ones and they worked out much cheaper from the US.

Ive had uggs since I was 4 and still do, they used to be real cheap! Ive always chucke mine in the washing machine and they've turned out splendid! Also...buy them a size too small because the fur wears away inside and then they are too big to wear out and about xxx

I can't afford them, but they're the most comfy boot ever! Oh, I love my UGGs

I think I'm going to send them back to UGG and see what they say. I'll keep you posted!

YAY!! My brand new ultra tall sands have arrived at uni! Currently at home so can't wait to get back now...So excited! Just read the ugg site and they said they will send them back if there is no problem! I tried cleaning my blues today. I basically made an extremely dilute solution of palmolive (has jojoba and coconut like the ugg cleaner and conditioner) and applied it with a brush. Then I rinsed it off. It seemed to work! Don't take my word for it...cornflower blue is much darker than sand! Good luck!

are ugg boots still in this year then?

are the tall ones quite roomy, because i've tried on boots and they havent been able to fit over my calves- 10 years of karate has built up a lot of muscle, lol!

i would be sooo greatful if someone could measure the circumference of the top of them!

also where's a good website to get them from?

I got some from jade today for 20 quid, cos I deffo couldn't justify buying new ones!
