You probably wont be able to unless you take a sleeping tablet!

Do some reading before you go to bed, to see if it helps you nod off.

Chances are though you'll be exhausted when you get up tomorrow morning. I find that if I have too much sleep over the weekend (and Im talking 2/3 extra hours, nothing major) it makes me really tired for the next few days and takes me ages to get back to normal.

Avoid all caffeine (coffee, fizzy drinks etc) and get to bed early. You'll eventually drift off...

I don't recommend sleeping pills of any description. It's too easy to develop a dependence, in my opinion. (It's like smoking - very few people are able to 'just try one').

If you're 18+, a couple of beers helps. Otherwise just avoid all caffeine (coffee, fizzy drinks etc) and get to bed early. You'll eventually drift off...

Reading a rubbish book/ watching a poor film normally helps me.

I have major problems sleeping as my sleeping pattern gets so messed up at uni. Sleeping tablets just dont help me, i can take one and still be awake until 9am.

If i'm at home and cant sleep i normally take a bath and just chill out.

Remember not to eat anything before you go to bed as your digestive system breaking it down will keep you awake and dont drink anything with caffine in.

Maybe you could try doing some exercise a few hours before you go to bed, too.
That always makes me really tired.

Get into bed and close your eyes!
I went to sleep at 6am this morning and woke up at 10am!!! i was determined to wake up at 10 and i did!!!
Reading a book and/or a film helps me  And, as anyone in the insomniac society will testify, horlicks are great  Just don't do what I did once and drink too many, ending up on a sugar rush...

Good idea. But not *just* before you go to bed, because that would make your body more active and you'd find it harder to get to sleep!

Haha yeah, i used to do this when i couldn't sleep... i'd eventually drift off. Just make sure you put your tv on a timer so it doesn't waste too much electricity!
