Anyone got any recent experiences of the Newcastle (or MetroCentre) Toni & Guy/Saks/Hair Cuttery/Sherlocks/anything I've missed out

Thanks x

Toni&Guy is quite expensive for students i think. I went to Soul, which is just off the left of Northumberland street and was satisfied. Male students for £11, female students for £20 just cut and finish.

For those that think that double digits is too much for a haircut, there is leazes park road. Travel up from the Gate, past gallowgate then turn left and go to J+R ??? hairdressers. I had a really nice and opinionated woman cutting my hair (Hey Im part of the debating society) and it cost me £7

Mops by gallowgate is probably the best place in town. It's half price first time an all if you're a student, so that's about a tenna... may get it half price every time, as long as they don't recognise you!

I go the Haircuttery down by the mushroom, 14 quid, and it's good like!

Not into Toni and guy haircuts!

The gentlemans barbers on acord road in Jesmond is pretty decent. £5 I think it was on Student Day (Tuesdays) and £9 normal days. You don't need to book or anything just walk in and wait your turn. (Though there does seem to be a lack of fitties cutting the hair, so if thats your thing then its prolly not the place )

There's a mint hairdressers on Whitley Road in Whitley Bay (though i dunno whether you wanna travel that far) The hairdressers are friendly and crazy - there's always something going on. The styles are fantastic and a cut and blow dry costs £17. I think that's very reasonable since they straighten and finish off the style brilliantly. oh - it's called splinters by the way.

I was pretty impressed with Menssalon in Eldon Square (It's quite out of the way, at one end below Argos). I went to The Original Barber Shop last time and I wasn't impressed, my advice would be to steer clear of there!

Menssalon is actually any good?! Everytime I walk past it I always think it must be a bit crap..

I think I might still go to Hull to get my hair cut, just because a fittie works at the local T&G  Unless Newcastle hairdressers are easier on the eyes.

I'm so shallow :frown:

Global Image.

Located near Haymarket metro station, street name Ridley Place. Locate it on multimap using the post code NE1 8JN.

It's accessible but not cheap so only worth it if you like to get a good haircut with a style to it. I rate it highly though and thoroughly recommend it. All the hairdressers there are highly qualified and respected.
