What if I got C on both papers for science, is it worth resitting for an A?

Hey all,
Thanks for the responses, it certainly makes me feel better about the grades I got. My follow up question would be about individual marks and how that affects the overall grade; for instance, say I got one of the units remarked and it went up by 4 marks, but the grade didn't change so it was still a B. Would the mark increase matter (and make it easier for me to get an A overall)? Or is it a case of 'it doesn't matter how high or low the B is, you got a B so this is what you have to get at A2 to get an A overall?'

Yes, it could make it easier, but there is the risk that your mark might fall. Honestly, I don't think doing resits is too much hassle (depending on the subject, of course), so if you can afford it I'd probably go down that route and resit your worst units.

(If you're in England) there is no point re-sitting Economics or Business as the AS does not affect the A level grade. You can re-sit individual units for Maths and accounting.

It really grinds my gear so I will reply even though it is an old post. You need an average of 90% in CIE A levels. So the 'misinformer' is not really wrong, just talking about a different board.

Yes you absolutely can

I got a D in AS maths last year and today I came out with an A*

What is your mark in A2.

If I got 74 for my physics AS which is a B, how many marks do I have to get for A2 to get an A (not A*) without resitting the papers?
