Adjustment and accommodation

I just got accepted to a place at Sheffield uni and I was wondering if anyone could tell me how long it will take before I can apply for accommodation. It says 'We have been unable to sign you in. Your details are invalid or your application is of the wrong type.'.
Is this because I have to wait for a log in to be sent and how long will that take? Also on a side note, do I have to do anything like decline offers or email the uni I originally got a place in to since I've now changed?
Thanks
Hi Jess,

Congratulations on your results! As you'll be coming to Sheffield via adjustment, UCAS Track can sometimes take a while to catch up and update out system. Does your Track have Sheffield listed as Unconditional Firm, or is it still your original firm choice?

While we can't do anything until UCAS updates to Sheffield as Unconditional Firm, there is still plenty of accommodation available, and there is an accommodation guarantee, which you can view here http://www.sheffield.ac.uk/accommodation/guarantee

It may be the case that UCAS updates later this evening, so you may be able to apply then or tomorrow morning instead at this link: https://www.shef.ac.uk/online-accommodation/

It has listed Sheffield as my unconditional firm, I will try again later this evening then!
Thanks
My daughter has been offered a place at Sheffield through adjustment and she has verbally accepted it. There is still no mention of Sheffield on track which just shows her original firm and insurance. she said that the rep at Sheffield says it should update at 5? Is that correct? If it doesn't update can she phone Sheffield later this evening?
What time do the admission lines stay open until.

We are keen to get it all in writing so she can apply for accomodation.

Thanks,

Hi, I have got into Sheffield through my insurance choice, and UCAS track have confirmed my place onto my course. When I applied for accommodation this morning there was only two choices available, a catered shared bathroom in Endcliffe and nomination City. Are these the only choices available or was the system not fully updated when I logged on. Thank you.

Yes, Track should be available for accepting offers from 5pm tonight. Once this shows Sheffield as Unconditional Firm, she will be able to apply for accommodation using this form https://www.shef.ac.uk/online-accommodation/

There is still plenty of accommodation available.

The phoneline is open until 6pm tonight, and reopens at 8:30am tomorrow morning.
Thanks for the quick reply. :u::h::smile:

You are right, those are the only remaining options if you want to get student accommodation through the university.

The catered Endcliffe flats are located in the Stephenson building, which is part of the Endcliffe village. Pictures of the rooms etc. are available at http://360degreevirtualtours.group.shef.ac.uk/endcliffe/accommodation/undergraduate/catered
As you will be in catered accommodation, you receive an eatwithUS card, the details of which can be found here: http://360degreevirtualtours.group.shef.ac.uk/home/food-and-drink

The nominated city accommodation is located in the Aspect 3 and Sheffield 3 buildings. These are private student halls that are reserved for new undergraduate students at the University. These flats are self-catered, and only 10-15 minutes walk from campus. If you have been invited to attend the clearing open day on the 17th of August, you will be able to view both accommodation blocks.

If you need any more information on accommodation, there is a Facebook group specifically devoted to accommodation at www.facebook.com/groups/UniversityofSheffieldaccommodati on/

Please let us know if there's any other way we can help.

All the best,
Kyle

For the city nominated accommodation is there anywhere to view the price. I am really worried about how much it is going to cost so I'd like to know before applying.

Thanks for the links Imogen.

I was having trouble finding the information. Accommodation is a bit of a worry with adjustment as you are giving up a firm place somewhere else.

hey i also get the "We have been unable to sign you in. Your details are invalid or your application is of the wrong type." when i try login to accommodation bit. Has yours fixed now? was it because they needed to process your ucas bit first?

It worked when I left it for a couple of hours! So wait for UCAS to process then it should work  Just keep trying until it logs you in ::smile:
