I got 84% overall (91%, 84% and 77% is the breakdown).

You guys at business seem to do sweet nothing all day. Two of my best friends on campus study marketing (so I believe you all do the same courses in year one?) have like 8-9 hours a week in lectures and get 10 pages a week to read from their lectures. I wish my course was so much work.

I only got 55% but the first year does not count towards your degree so I never bothered learning more then I needed to.

Yes but the first year does provide you with foundation knowledge toward your 2nd and 3rd years of study. Ideally you will do better during your 2nd and 3rd years if you perform well during your 1st. If you are transferring, don't KCL/Essex want to see your credits transcript? Won't it hurt your application to have done poorly?

KCL doesn't accept transfers. That's what they told me. Essex doesn't accept UEL transfers either. I asked and they told me NO. I've asked just about every uni in the top 50 and all of them said no to transfers from UEL. Try somewhere like city or queen mary if you have good grades but don't count on credit transfers because most uni's don't like that.

It hurts on your transfer application if you have poor marks but it doesn't help if you get good marks either. So what's the point?

True it will. I doubt it will matter about my other A level grades and my computing degree, they will most likly ask me to start again from year 1. I wanted to go to essex last year but I came back from turkey late in september and instead of wasting a year I went to UEL.

Anyway I have 3 exams left in may for semester 2 and I am gonna try and get 70%+ on them which should get me an overall 2.1 for year 1. I would need like 94% on the last 3 to get a first, that will not happen so the best will be 2.1 which even though it does not count I will be aiming for as self motivation.

I will most likly be transfering. I am still unsure. I found out that UEL has an american football team which I am signing up for next week and same goes with the cricket team. I am just not enjoying myself at duncan house.

As far as transfers go, essex told me in october they do accept transfers and I told them I went to UEL and they still said they do. As for KCL I guess time will tell. I am gonna complete my application sometime end of this week, I am in no rush. I know last year essex still had like 40 places on there LLB law course in clearing so I am assuming alot of universities are like that.

I am gonna apply and see what there offer is, I am starting to warm to UEL as a whole and maybe the sports teams will help me to stay.

Credit transfers are rare even in the most extreme circumstances. Your A-levels will count the most - which is probably why you were refused a transfer to another university unless you did fulfill the A-level requirements. Almost all courses will require a year 1 restart so that isn't just because you're coming from UEL. I'd imagine there is a slight possibility of a year 2 entry transfer if you are switching between two university of London universities (or wishing to complete your clinical years in a medicine degree at a different university to your pre-clinical years) but again you will probably be required to meet the standard entry requirements regardless of if you have 100% in everything or 10% in everything.

does any know of my chances of getting into universities such as essex or sussex for second year after i do exceptionally well in first year psychology at UEL?
anyone know someone or have personal experiences?
iam in a massive dilemma. retaking a-levels seems daunting considering my age (21). its just bad luck that exams came at a really turbulent time so instead of Getting straight AAA and worring about a rejection from oxbridge iam splitting my hair with BCD and worrying if i will ever get to a top 50 uni.

why do you guys want to transfer to another uni? surely if you didnt like UEL why pick it at first?
