Ok I have to go shopping today for something to wear to a black tie formal.....but there's a ceilidh after the meal.
What do I wear on my feet? Argh. Heels would be a bad idea since they would make enthusiastic dancing impossible, but surely flats would be ugly? Can't take my shoes off, feet would get stepped on!
Are there any really nice flat shoes in the shops at the moment?
You could always go for something flat, with a tiny heel. If you get a fuller shoe then your feet would still be supported when dancing, despite the heel. Or just go for something flat completely.
New Look always have nice flats but in my experience they arent the most comfortable of shoes. Dp is also a good place to try. Try Next too
What colour were you looking at? Does it have to be black? You could also try something with a touch of gold or silver.
I've never had a problem dancing in heels at a ceilidh, but then again, I've been to too many to count
Wedges are fairly good to dance in, although I would just suggest making sure that there is some grip on the bottom of the shoes, else you will end up flying across the dancefloor...
when i went to ceilidh in the summer i just wore high heels for the meal and stuff and put some black ballet flats in my bag and put them on before the dancing. worked for me...
Ceilidhs are my favourite thing on the world They're family tradition at wedding s lol. I like the ideaof the person above, heels for the meal and flats when you're dancing, wear something cool you're going to get really sweaty
Well for me it would be a Ceilí but then thats the irishness but usually I find its better for the steps to wear heels but then I suppose each to their own but if you want wear 'kitten heels' or take flats with you.
