Grade S in STEP

The standard for this grade is equivalent to that
formerly required for an Open Award in the
Cambridge Colleges’ Examination (the CCE).

Does anybody have any information about these Cambridge College Examinations they used to have, and this "Open Award". I can't seem to find anything on the Internet.

Never heard of it and couldn't find anything on the internet as well. But about S Grade in STEP, the rough figure is top 10% of the candidates in STEP I, top 13.5% in STEP II and top 14.5% in STEP III will get a S Grade.
