Ive read that the open university are actually a great university to learn from and that the course is accredited officially. however, are the degrees 100% legitimate or is there a catch? Would i be able to go into a career in psychology ( counselling psychology with some specialisation into criminal psychology) with this degree or would it be a waste of time and money? It seems too good to br true and i only missed one grade to get into my chosen university so om unsure whether to research this or just resit.

My colleague, who is also working as an assistant psychologist within the NHS, got her psychology degree through the open university, so they do offer 'legit' degrees that can open doors to the different practitioner psychologist roles. Just double check on the British psychological society website that the exact course you pick with give you eligibility to join the British psychological society as a graduate member (essential if you want to be a practitioner psychologist and don't want to fork out for an additional 'conversion' masters degree)

Yes, they are legit and they have 4 psychology degrees which are BPS accredited.
The whole point of the open university is that it is open to anyone at the point of entry regardless of qualifications.
Not everyone will finish of course but the ones that do will be at a standard of the same level as a degree obtained from a traditional university. They are highly regarded.
