A bit of background: I am relatively prone to nosebleeds, I usually get one every couple of months or so, but they go away within 10 minutes.
In the last couple of days I've had 4 nosebleeds, each of which have lasted about 45 mins-1 hour and I went to see a nurse today who referred me onto a GP to be safe but basically said it wasn't anything to worry about. Just as I was leaving, she asked me if i had any unusual bruising and that made me remember that i did have a few bruises on my legs which is odd because i don't bruise easily at all, and I'd have remembered hitting my thighs hard enough to bruise! So I told her that and she suddenly got really tense and moved my appointment forward to wednesday and then booked me a blood test as well.
I'm assuming that this isn't good! But I was too confused and freaked out to really ask her at the time. So does anyone have any ideas what those sort of symptoms can indicate? Thanks in advance
Don't want to worry you but I've heard those symptoms being associated with leukaemia. Chances of it being that are so slim though...it's probably nothing.
if you have been to any country like Peru or elsewhere in south america, singapore, india and various other countries then you may have dengue fever, cause by mosquitos (I know because I have it lol) but you would feel really ill as well.
But yeah, those things are symptoms of leukemia but don't worry about it. Skin can apparently bruise more easily due to stress of so I've been told, so don't just assume that it's something horrific. Just keep calm until you get your test results. No use worrying until you have something specific to worry about!
thanks guys, that's quite a relief. I was trying to stop myself thinking along the leukaemia line, lol, so I'm going to keep telling myself it's just stress
