Haha! So let me get this straight... you seem to have a completely irrational fear, bordering on phobia (worthy of a million :frown: s it would seem), of BSE and yet you continue to eat the food you consider to be the source of the disease?! Several times a day, no less? What do you want us to say? That you're an idiot? I'll be happy to oblige. On some form of a sensible note, you are unlikely to contract "mad cow" regardless of your diet. You're probably not helping your chances by eating crappy quality beef but there we go. At any rate you won't know if you've got it for the next 10 or 15 years so might as well enjoy the short life you have left. Get me a McChicken Sandwich and a diet coke yeah.

Right. Let's NOT hype up BSE. My family are farmers, and had enough trouble with it when there were the problems years back. You are not going to get BSE. You are more likely to die due to an utterly **** diet, if as you say, you eat McDonalds regularly.
We won't know the extent of vCJD (BSE in humans) on the population for around 15 to 20 years. No point in worrying until you know you've got it.

Actually that is not such a safe suggestion!
Avian Flu is a more recent worry and so worse than the beef burger, I say just lay off them both. Have a Bacon Bagel and a Coke Zero.

Oh for gods sake! This is ridiculous! Even if the poultry were to have come into contact with the virus, the virus would have been killed off in cooking it!

I was only kidding and mocking the thread.
And for some reason I only saw/read the first 3 posts :s

If you eat in McDonalds every day you'll die of heart disease long before you get CJD.

Sorry, just get a tad annoyed by people who overhype things like Avian Influenza and BSE, my family are large scale farmers and we have both beef cattle and poultry, and so it directly affects me.

You've ommitted to consider possible contamination when handling, and before cooking....If indeed the problem is proven to be contained - then no probs whatsoever.

it's the medias fault for giving over-hyped information that just creates scare mongering (sp:confused: )

If you buy it in McDonalds, you are not going to be handling it uncooked.

I have a big interest in BSE and hope one day I will be able to do some research on it if I get to be a vet. My family have a dairy farm and I've already done a lot of research on it so if you want to know anything about it, you can pm me if you are really worried! Though I wouldn't really give it that much thought if I were you. I mean, come on, you still eat in McDonalds so you sound a bit ridiculous to me. Not only that, but you may or may not be aware that some sweets like liquorice allsorts also contain beef gelatin.
